We are a family run business operating on traditional values such as honesty & integrity, based in Sandy Bedfordshire.

We have been providing instrumentation and sensors for temperature, thermal,and meteorological measurements since starting the business in 1991 under the former name of Otter Instruments.

Trading under the present name of BARBER InSys since the year 2000, we have added low cost thermal imaging cameras, digital food thermometers, calibration management software, wood and soft building material moisture meters, and pharmaceutical clean room environmental monitoring on-line sensors to our scope of supply.

We work closely with system integrators, supplying intelligent meteorological sensors for Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) where critical measurement of road surface conditions are required to communicate with local authority winter maintenance teams, or pollution monitoring systems where accurate input of weather data is required, such as wind speed and direction etc.

We try to find the best technical solution that either meets or exceeds our customers expectation and within our clients initial budget calculations.

In representing a selection of (mostly European) world class manufacturers in their field of measurement expertise, most on an exclusive basis, means we have extensive technical resources at our disposal to propose.

As an SME ourselves, we have the flexibility to respond to the majority of enquiries within the same day.

We were previously ISO9001 accredited and continue to operate under the same in house quality system.

Caring for the environment

An in house policy of recycling packaging material where we can and turning off electrical equipment when not in use.

We have taken the WEEE issue seriously and have joined a national scheme for product end of life management.

Our Environment Agency Registration Number is WEE/HK0003ZR

We are also endeavouring to supply product that have been manufactured and transported from no further than Europe where possible.
